SupaScoot's Rumor Report!!!

Welcome to yet another new feature here on Action News, where I'm gonna field all the crazy rumors we hear in the entertainment world. Rarely do these pan out, but sometimes, just sometimes, we learn a nugget of truth. So let's get started.

This is apparently the all Avengers Edition as we get hit from casting rumors to plot rumors to cameo rumors. That's a lot of rumors.

This one comes from

'AKA Jessica Jones' Coming To TV

So I apologize for the lack of posts, but holidays are over and it's time to get back to work. So I'll start with some old news, but good news.

Not too long ago we told you about Marvel's plan to bring three properties to the small screen, with two of them being rumored to be Cloak & Dagger, and The Incredible Hulk. The third series remained a mystery...until now.

Dramatic.

The Urban 30 Weekly Update!!! Season 4 - Week 13

I'm doing this quickly today because it's Christmas, but I figured what better present on X-Mas than your favorite weekly wrap-up! I'll keep the summaries short, because you really need to read the posts to get the big picture!

And what a week it was! With all the talk of a carnival I was hoping for a nice peaceful cotton candy filled fun time, but where the Urban 30 is involved you know that

What Are Friends For? Brand New Segment!!!

Welcome to a brand new feature here at Action News, and it's all about a simple question really.

What Are Friends For?

Not those 'Friends'...
Well, most of the time what a lot of my friends are good for are sending me funny stuff from the web. Yea sure, they are there when you need something and to always give support, get drunk with, blah blah blah. BORING. So instead of having all this

Jon Favreau Not Directing 'Iron Man 3'

By now I'm sure you've all heard the news that Jon Favreau will NOT be directing Iron Man 3, which surprised most of is in the comic world. After setting up the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) with both of his IM films, most of us expected him to continue with his franchise, but instead he will be directing Disney's Magic Kingdom.

Splashpage.mtv has the story:

"It's true," he told fans on

'X-Men: First Class' Set Pics and Synopsis

After the whirlwind of casting news we saw a few months ago, there's been a lot of questions about the Matthew Vaughn helmed X-Men: First Class. Well, recently some set photos came out revealing some possible info about the upcoming prequel(?), I suppose we could call it.

The set photo shows what looks to be a crashed Sr-71 Blackbird, which is the X-Men's jet, natch:

Some of the possible

VGA Game Trailers!!!

So this weekend the Spike TV Video Game Awards aired, and they were pretty effin awesome. Neil Patrick Harris hosted, and despite all the boring awards part of the evening we got to see some pretty cool trailer reveals. I'll try and make the epicness quick:

Thor: God of Thunder

Mass Effect 3

Prototype 2

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

There were a lot more trailers but these were the

Every Zombie Kill From 'The Walking Dead'

Now this is cool, and I actually have Twitter to thank for this little gem of zombie gore. Well, Robert Kirkman's Twitter, that is.

Anyways, over at BuzzFeed they have this montage of head shots and mayhem made by Eric Linn, showcasing "every" zombie kill from AMC's The Walking Dead, and while there may be a couple missing, I don't know, I'm not a doctor, it's still a good watch.

Full 'Batman: Arkham City' Trailer Debuts At The VGA's!

We saw the Batman: Arkham City teaser a couple days ago that featured Batman being a bad ass, and I would say that this trailer really reveals the bad assery of Professor Hugo Strange. And the VGA's had a great set that really added to the effect of the debut. Here's the long awaited trailer:

Boom! And that's not even showing most of the game or some of the characters involved. Filmonic has a

The Urban 30 Weekly Update!!! Season 4 - Week 11

Welcome back to the Urban 30 Weekly Update! This week the reunited members of the U30 deal with some team problems while trying to determine the next step, when the next step is made for them.

Here's the weekly rundown:

Elemental - Bubbles and ConversationTerra reflects on her recent work with the homeless shelters to help her 'husband', the Mayor, and the media coverage that came with it.

The 'Thor' Trailer Is Here!!!

Wow. I'll just say that first.

A lot of people have been worried about the Kenneth Branagh helmed Thor for a lot of reasons. The difficulty in bringing the character to the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a big part of this. Since Iron Man was released, it focused on a Marvel world that was tech and science based, and Thor should be anything but, so everyone is wondering how they will be

The Flaming C... AKA Conan O' Brien?

That's right, if you've ever wondered what Conan O'Brien would look like as a superhero, wait no longer. Comics Alliance has the story:

After realizing that his new talk show is produced not just fifty feet away from the legendary Warner Bros. Animation building at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California, comedian Conan O'Brien rushed over to discuss comics and animation with Chief Creative

More 'Spider-Man' Casting! And Gwen Stacy Set Photos!

Casting news doesn't end when it comes to the 'Spider-Man' reboot, and this casting seems to lend itself to more possible plot points.

First off, Splashpage.mtv has the casting of Eugene 'Flash' Thompson, Peter Parker's High School bully yet staunch supporter of all things Spidey. Also Peter's eventual best friend, believe it or not. Chris Zylka, best known for his role on, uh, Hannah Montana,

'Thor' Poster Debuts!

The next big Marvel movie coming out is the Kenneth Branagh helmed Thor starring Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder. We got our first look at some footage at the SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con) along with a trailer and yesterday the poster for the flick was released:

Looks pretty sweet while keeping it basic, much like the first poster for Iron Man.  It really highlights the amazing costume work

Superman XXX: A Porn Parody... What? It's News!

Why are you looking at me like that?

Now you all remember when Batman XXX: A Porn Parody came out last year, and was one of the highest selling adult films... EVER. What do you mean you never heard of it... Stop lying dude, we all know you bought it opening day.

Anyways, the Axel Braun helmed Batman XXX was a colossal hit, and it's no surprise that we have the next installment on the way.

'Batman: Arkham City' Superbad Teaser Trailer

Now when Action News promises you ACTION, that's what we bring. And nothing is more action packed than watching a 30 second teaser of Batman doing what he does best, kicking ass and not caring about names. Check it out:

Dope. I just can't wait to jump under the cowl again and play as one of my all time favorite comic characters. Batman: Arkham Asylum  was a geeky jelly filled fun fest, and I

'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' Teaser Trailer

Michael Bay has released the first teaser for the 3rd movie to feature a ridiculous number of explosions, Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Be warned, there isn't a single explosion in the teaser, so I'm a little lost for words:

Now doesn't that almost look like it should have been the trailer for the first movie? And who the hell is this guy? And why does he have a beard?

Now I am not as

Emma Stone Shows Us Her Gwen Stacy!

Emma Stone has revealed her blonde locks on the red carpet, so I guess this is our first look at Gwen Stacy from Marc Webb's Spider-Man:

I dig it, but I love Emma Stone, so I may have some bias on the topic. Stone is a natural blonde, but on screen we are all used to the cherry red she usually goes with. I think she has the Gwen look, just take a look at a pic of Gwen from the comics:

'The Walking Dead' Writing Staff Fired

News broke a bit ago that Frank Darabont, the developer behind AMC's hit The Walking Dead had fired off the entire writing staff, it left a lot of us internet media types puzzled. I mean, the show is a success, breaking ratings records, and was picked up for a second season after the first episode, so why fix what ain't broke?

Now obviously one would think that now Darabont himself would be

'Spider-Man' Adds Another Villain And Casts Peter Parker's Parents

The upcoming Spider-Man reboot has added a few more names to it's growing cast list, and they are kind of unexpected castings. The first two are the casting of Peter's parents, Richard and Mary Parker. Campbell Scott and Julianne Nicholson will be portraying Petey's parents, in I'm assuming a flashback or something like that, as yea, they die.

The other casting news is the addition of Irrfan

Christopher Nolan Hands Off Superman Reboot

When news broke that Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception) along with his bro Jonathan Nolan and David S. Goyer (Blade Trinity, The Unborn) were going to be the creative force behind the upcoming Superman reboot, there were a lot of happy fans. His work with the bat-franchise is amazing, and Inception was ground-breaking. Then they found a director in Zach Snyder (300, Watchmen) and the

Nicholas Cage Talks 'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance'

And I do mean talk.

Over at /Film they've compiled some interviews Cage has done while on the press circuit for The Season of the Witch, and it seems to me he spent more time talking about Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. He praises the directing team of Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, and reveals some more info about the upcoming film:

"It is a completely different film. The first one,

'Captain America: Super Soldier' Official Site Launched

Easy now, Marvel didn't change the title of the upcoming Captain America movie, this is the video game. Captain America: Super Soldier is the new game from SEGA that ties-in to the movie, Captain America: The First Avenger. The official site has been released, showcasing some screens, trailer, and game info. It looks decent, although nothing in it really blew my mind. You take a look and tell me

'All-Star Superman' Is The Next DC Animated Movie

DC has really been kicking ass and taking names when it comes to the animated movies that they are producing. With a new one almost every three or four months, DC is getting some of their greatest stories told in a new way and brought to new people.
All-Star Superman is the next feature to come out, and I couldn't be happier. This was one of the greatest Superman tales I have ever read, and it

'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance' Photos

The first images from the Neveldine/Taylor (Crank) helmed Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance starring Nic Cage have hit the web, and fans of the first Ghost Rider... well, I don't think their were too many fans. Umm...Where was I going with this?

Anyways, the photos aren't much, but they show Cage as Johnny Blaze, chilling on his new Hellcycle:

"Stop looking at me, swan."

And here is our

Andrew Garfield & Emma Stone Talk 'Spider-Man'

With a lot of the casting news out of the way for Marc Webb's Spider-Man, we are starting to hear some news from the stars of the flick, with rehearsals recently starting. Not quite everything that I want to hear yet but it's still early. So we hear a little bit from Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker/Spider-Man) and Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy):
MTV NEWS: Has there been a surreal moment from 2010 that

'The Green Hornet' International Trailer

Well, there are a lot of nay-sayers when it comes to the Michael Gondry helmed The Green Hornet, and it's mainly due to the casting of Seth Rogen as Britt Reid/Green Hornet. While I do agree that he doesn't necessarily fit the role of Reid that's in most of our minds from the '60s TV show, butit fits for what they are trying to do with the movie.

Here's the international trailer:

So

'Family Guy: It's A Trap!' Trailer!

Well, you had to know that it was coming. After the success of Blue Harvest and Something, Something, Something Dark Side, it was no surprise that the third installment would hit us, at X-Mas no less. The trailer for Family Guy: It's A Trap! is a fanboy's dream, and like they point out at the link, it's almost an exact homage to the original trailer for Star Wars Return of the Jedi. Here's the

'Young Justice' Premieres Tonight!

... If you get Cartoon Network that is. Or live in Canada so can't stream it from the states... no biggie... I'm not bitter or anything.

And too make it worse they released this 6 minute trailer a couple days ago to rub it in a little more. For those of you who don't know what Young Justice is, it's the story of the sidekicks of the DC universe on their own team. More of a Teen Titans kind of

Teaser Trailer for 'Cowboys & Aliens'

Jon Favreau follows up his Iron Man duo smashes with Cowboys & Aliens starring Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde and Harrison Ford. Yea, Harrison Ford. Bam!Kapow! brings us the trailer:

I'm watching this one for two reasons; Olivia Wilde's "nude" scene, and Harrison Ford as a badass cowboy. Hell, just the idea of Cowboys vs. Aliens is orgasmic, a genre bending fun fest. Plus it's Bond and Han Solo

First Look At Karl Urban in 'Dredd'

Now I know it's hard to picture a Judge Dredd movie without vomit-inducing flashbacks of 1995's Judge Dredd starring Sly Stallone. Don't remember it? This might jog your memory:

Wow, still so bad. Anyways, the upcoming Dredd starring Karl Urban vowed to give the Judge the movie he deserves. Here's the first still from the movie featuring Urban in full Judge gear, but don't expect to see to

Darren Aronofsky To Helm 'The Wolverine'

So if you didn't hear the news, the official title for Wolverine II with Hugh Jackman is:

The Wolverine...

You gotta love originality in Hollywood. But for the first time we get some good news regarding this sequel, a director has finally been signed.

Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler, Requiem for a Dream) has signed a 2 year deal with 20th Century Fox, the studio behind the Wolverine sequel.

Denis Leary Cast In Spider-Man!?!

What? Yea, true story folks, Denis Leary (Rescue Me, The Ref) is in final talks to star as Capt. George Stacy, Emma Stone/Gwen Stacy's poppa and Spider-Man's sometimes ally. Leary joins a star filled cast with Martin Sheen and Sally Field as Uncle Ben and Aunt May, respectively, Andrew Garfield as Petey/Spidey, Zooey Deschanel as Betty Brant (maybe), and Rhys Ifans as the "unnamed" villain (but

The Search For The Next Superman Begins!

Breaking News!!! This Just In!!! Action!!! Umm, I think you get it...

Hot off the announcement (like 3 months ago) that Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) will be directing the Superman reboot and Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception) will be producing, it seems the casting search has begun for who will fill the red booties and outside-the-pants ginch of Superman.
Personally I would love to

The "Green Lantern" Trailer!!!

Here it is folks, we got a preview of it yesterday, the first trailer for Martin Campbell's upcoming Green Lantern.

Sorry about the spanish subtitles, it was the only embeddable copy I could find...

Enjoy:

Awesome. I can't even speak about it right now. Not only is this looking to be one of the best DC movies (the Nolan Batman's don't count, as they were preceded by like 12 terrible movies)

Monday, November 15, 2010

First Preview of the "Green Lantern" Trailer!!!

Yea, I just shat my pants a little bit. Ha ha ha, just kidding. Heh, jk... Yea, okay, I did, I shat myself. But after the build-up and the sneak peeks from SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con, which I covered here) of Martin Campbell's Green Lantern starring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively (yum), I bet I wasn't the only one with a little bit of oopsie...

Now this is just a 30s pre-preview for the trailer

SupaScoot's Action Comic Talk!!! Comics on TV...

With the news that The Walking Dead has already been picked up for a second season by AMC, there has been a lot of push to bring some great properties to the small screen. While this isn't the first time we've seen these characters and stories on TV, it is a time when the studios aren't afraid to take risks and release something that isn't campy and watered down. So it's definitely something to

DC Comics Unveils New Digital Comic Store

Stepping up to take advantage of modern technology, DC Comics has fulfilled their plans to retail comics to the online world. Newsarama reports:

"We've made sure that our storefront is powered by ComiXology," co-publisher Jim Lee posted on DC's "The Source" blog today, "which means if you buy a DC digital comic like the chart-busting Death of Superman on your Mac or PC at home, you can read the

Zooey Deschanel Might Be In "Spider-Man" Reboot?!?

Casting news keeps heading our way as the Marc Webb-helmed "Spider-Man" keeps moving forward. The latest rumor is that Zooey Deschanel (Lots of movies, she's gorgeous, moving on) might be playing the role of Betty Brant, Peter's first girlfriend and co-worker at the Daily Bugle.

"He wants a strong performer to carry the role and Zooey fits the bill perfectly," an alleged insider tells Showbiz

Why I Started A Blog... Or How I Failed As A Writer

Now I've been getting a lot of questions lately that sound like:

"Hey Scoot, we love the blog, but why did you start one?"
...or
"Don't you write on the internet enough as it is?"
...or
"Seriously dude, 'All You Can Eat' is really more of a suggestion than a rule..."

Okay, well that last one wasn't a question, more of a really hurtful remark, but either way, I'm going to use this blog to answer

All right, ladies and gentle men, it's time for my second blog... uhhh....so.... carry the one...damn it. Of course, it helps to have something to blog about. I'm not the kind of guy to just make a post saying something like:

That just seems
